Community Development Block Grant for Housing Rehabilitation

The City of Lodi has a Community Development Block Grant for Housing Rehabilitation available. The funds are loaned at 0% interest to eligible households for home repairs. Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. There is no cost associated with the application and all submitted information is strictly confidential. 

Loans can be used to make repairs such as handicap accessibility, window/door replacement, roofing, electrical upgrades, water/sewer line connection, siding repairs, porch repairs. In addition, repair or replacement to heating systems, water heaters, and plumbing systems are eligible. 

Funds are available for the following types of projects:

  • Homeowners: These funds are lent to eligible households for home repairs. The loan is a 0%, deferred payment loan. In other words, the loan does not need to be paid back until the house is sold or the loan recipient is no longer living there. After 30 years, the loan will be reviewed with the possibility of extending it for another 30 years.

  • Landlords: Installment loans are available for landlords who rent to tenants that are low- to moderate-income. The loan is a 0% interest loan.
