Utility Bill Tax Roll of Past Due Balances

Municipally owned public utilities are authorized to collect unpaid charges by placing the amount on the tax roll as a lien on the property served.

The procedure begins with giving notice by October 15 to the owner and/or occupant of each parcel of land in which payment is in arrears as of October 1.  

If the balance remains unpaid as of November 15, the amount will become a lien on the property and be collected as a special assessment on this year’s tax bill.
