Challenge yourself to save energy, save money, and make a difference for local nonprofits! Lodi has been selected as the first city in Wisconsin to participate in the Save to Give Challenge, sponsored by Focus on Energy, Wisconsin's energy efficiency and renewable energy resource program. Changing just a few behaviors can lower energy bills and help the community raise up to $25,000 to support three local nonprofits: Reach Out Lodi, Inc., Lodi Parent Teacher Organization, and Prairie Valley Resale Store.
Beginning January 25, 2021, Lodi Utilities residential electric customers can sign up for the Save to Give Challenge with MyAccount. Then, during two, eight week donation campaigns - one this winter and another this summer - the following actions can be taken:
- Choose a nonprofit to support
- Explore easy and free or low-cost ways to save energy
- Record the energy-saving actions you take each week to earn points
Local nonprofits share the prize money from Focus on Energy when enough Lodi residents sign up and earn points for saving energy. The City of Lodi is proud to offer a bonus donation up to $2,100 to encourage households to sign up. The City will donate $900 to be split between the three charities once 100 households enroll in the challenge. If 250 households sign up, the City will donate $2,100 to split among the three charities.
