Lodi Utilities is upgrading residential electric meters starting in 2021. The new metering system will be read remotely and will allow the utility to provide proactive customer service while operating more efficiently and effectively. The new meters also allow for faster detection of service related problems to help ensure the utility's system stays in good working order for years to come.
The service upgrade to electric meters began in March 2021 and will take several months to complete. A line worker from Lodi Utilities will upgrade the meter in each residents' yard by removing the existing meter and replacing it with a new meter. Lodi Utilities will not set up appointments for meter replacement. The process is quick and power loss is not expected during the upgrade.
